As far back as I can remember
I have loved India. I knew I would visit there one day, but it took my
MS diagnosis and wheelchair dependence to kick me into action. Now I was
unable to work, how would I fund such a journey across the world? I advertised
in the local newspaper for someone with complimentary abilities to my
own and Andy replied. He was totally blind, but I could be his eyes and
he could be my legs! The media loved us and we quickly raised the funds
to start on our journey. We were sponsored per mode of transport used
with monies raised going to MS and Diabetes research. We circled India
overland, then crossed into Nepal to go white water rafting as a reward
to ourselves for the arduous trek round India. I have returned to Asia
since that first journey, taking aid back to benefit the Nepalese disabled......
why didn't I realise this was just the beginning of my travels?
